HTML Formatter: limits and things worth knowing

• Whitespace is significant inside <pre>, <textarea> and any element styled with white-space: pre, so those blocks are left untouched. Re-indenting them would change what the page displays.
• Whitespace between inline elements is also rendered, so adding line breaks around a <span> or an <a> can introduce a visible space. This matters most in tightly spaced navigation and button rows.
• Formatting will not fix invalid markup. If the indentation looks wrong after formatting, that is usually the tool showing you a real nesting error rather than a formatting failure.
