Privacy Policy

Filevane is built to be private by default. The overwhelming majority of our tools run entirely inside your web browser using client-side JavaScript. When you merge a PDF, resize an image, format JSON or run a calculator, the file or text you provide is processed on your own device and is never uploaded to our servers. We do not operate a server that receives, stores, or sees your documents.

What we do not collect

• The contents of any file you open in a tool.
• The text, code, images, or numbers you paste or type into a tool.
• Accounts — Filevane requires no sign-up, so we hold no passwords or profiles.

What we may collect

To understand which tools are useful and to keep the site fast, we may use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service that records aggregate, anonymous page-view counts. This data cannot identify you and never includes the contents of your files. If you contact us through the contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message you choose to send so that we can reply — nothing more.

Cookies and local storage

Some tools store small preferences (such as your light or dark theme choice) in your browser’s local storage. That information stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. Where advertising is shown (see below), our advertising partners may set their own cookies or similar technologies in your browser; these are governed by the partners’ own privacy policies, not ours.

Advertising

To keep Filevane free, some pages display advertising served by third-party ad networks, including Google AdSense and, where enabled, Ezoic. These networks and their partners may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to measure and serve ads, and—if you consent—to show ads based on your interests. Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can review and control personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info. We never share the contents of your files with any advertiser—because those contents never leave your device in the first place.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another region that requires it, you will be shown a consent choice before personalised ads are used, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time.

Third-party services

The contact form is delivered by a third-party form service; analytics, if enabled, is provided by an analytics provider; and advertising, where shown, is provided by the ad networks named above. Each of these providers processes only the limited data described in this policy, under its own privacy policy.

Your rights

Because we do not build profiles or store your files, there is normally nothing personal for us to retrieve or delete. If you have emailed us and would like your message removed from our inbox, just ask and we will delete it.
