Why Browser-Based Tools Are Safer for Your Files Most online converters upload your files to a server. Client-side tools don't. Here's why that difference matters for privacy.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my maximum heart rate?

The familiar 220 minus age is easy but imprecise, with a standard deviation of about 10-12 beats per minute. The Tanaka formula, 208 minus 0.7 times age, fits the research better across adult ages and is the one worth using.

What are heart rate training zones?

Commonly five bands as a percentage of maximum: 50-60% recovery, 60-70% fat burn, 70-80% aerobic, 80-90% anaerobic and 90-100% maximum effort. The Karvonen method refines these using your resting heart rate, which makes the zones personal rather than generic.

What is a normal resting heart rate?

For most adults, 60-100 beats per minute; trained endurance athletes are often 40-60. Measure it after waking, before getting up, since activity and caffeine both shift it substantially.

Is this medical advice?

No. These are general population formulas with wide individual variation, and medication — beta blockers especially — changes heart rate response entirely. Talk to a doctor before starting a training programme or if your readings concern you.
