LinkedIn Post Formatter: limits and things worth knowing
- LinkedIn posts are limited to 3,000 characters. Only about the first 140-210 show before See more on mobile, so the opening lines carry the whole post.
- LinkedIn has no rich text in the composer. Bold and italic in posts are Unicode mathematical alphanumeric characters, which screen readers announce character by character or skip entirely — use them sparingly and never for essential information.
- Line breaks work in the composer but are sometimes lost when pasting from a rich-text source; pasting as plain text avoids it.
- Article headlines and the profile headline have separate limits — 220 characters for the profile headline.
Is it private and secure?
Your privacy is built in. LinkedIn Post Formatter runs completely on your device, so whatever you enter stays in your browser and is never transmitted, logged or stored on any server.
Network activity: none. Nothing is sent and nothing is fetched. This tool makes no network request at all once the page has loaded — which is why it keeps working if your connection drops.
You do not have to take that on trust — our privacy proof page publishes the Content-Security-Policy that enforces it, lists every third party it permits, and shows how to verify the whole claim yourself.
