What people use Frequency Converter for
- Converting between hertz, kilohertz, megahertz and gigahertz.
- Converting a period into a frequency.
- Working with radio, audio or clock-speed figures.
Frequency Converter: limits and things worth knowing
- Frequency and period are reciprocals: 50 Hz has a period of 20 milliseconds.
- Frequency prefixes are strictly decimal — 1 kHz is 1,000 Hz, never 1,024. The binary prefixes apply to data storage, not to frequency.
- Angular frequency in radians per second is 2π times the frequency in hertz, which is where a factor of about 6.28 appears in engineering formulas.
- Human hearing spans roughly 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and the upper limit falls with age.
Is it private and secure?
Your privacy is built in. Frequency Converter runs completely on your device, so whatever you enter stays in your browser and is never transmitted, logged or stored on any server.
Network activity: none. Nothing is sent and nothing is fetched. This tool makes no network request at all once the page has loaded — which is why it keeps working if your connection drops.
You do not have to take that on trust — our privacy proof page publishes the Content-Security-Policy that enforces it, lists every third party it permits, and shows how to verify the whole claim yourself.
