Upload Signature: limits and things worth knowing

• The background is removed by thresholding, so a high-contrast source works far better: dark ink on white paper, photographed flat in even light with no shadow across the page.
• A photograph with a shadow gradient across it will keep part of the shadow, because the threshold cannot separate a mid-grey shadow from mid-grey ink.
• The output is a transparent PNG suitable for placing on a document.
• Signatures are sensitive. This runs entirely in your browser, so the image is never uploaded anywhere.

Is it private and secure?

Your privacy is built in. Upload Signature does all processing on your own device using client-side code, so your files are never transmitted, stored or seen by anyone — including us.

Network activity: none. Nothing is sent and nothing is fetched. This tool makes no network request at all once the page has loaded — which is why it keeps working if your connection drops.

You do not have to take that on trust — our privacy proof page publishes the Content-Security-Policy that enforces it, lists every third party it permits, and shows how to verify the whole claim yourself.
