PDF to Image: limits and things worth knowing

PNG for anything containing text or line art; JPG only for pages that are essentially photographs, where the file will be much smaller.
Rendering rasterises the page, so the result is no longer searchable or selectable.
Higher DPI gives a sharper image and a much larger file — doubling DPI roughly quadruples the size.
Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked before they can be rendered.
