Is it private and secure?
Your privacy is built in. EXIF Viewer does all processing on your own device using client-side code, so your files are never transmitted, stored or seen by anyone — including us.
Network activity: none. Nothing is sent and nothing is fetched. This tool makes no network request at all once the page has loaded — which is why it keeps working if your connection drops.
You do not have to take that on trust — our privacy proof page publishes the Content-Security-Policy that enforces it, lists every third party it permits, and shows how to verify the whole claim yourself.

Frequently asked questions
What is EXIF data?
EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) is metadata cameras and phones embed in photos — including the camera model, exposure settings, date and often the GPS location where the photo was taken.
Can I see where a photo was taken?
If the photo contains GPS EXIF, the tool shows the coordinates and a link to view them on a map. Many images have this stripped by social networks.
Why does my photo show no EXIF?
Screenshots, edited exports and images downloaded from most social platforms have their metadata removed. Original camera/phone files usually retain it.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Metadata is parsed locally in your browser, so your photo never leaves your device.
