• Rotation is stored as a page attribute rather than by re-rendering the content, so it is lossless and instant no matter how large the file is.
• Some readers ignore the rotation flag when printing. If a rotated page prints in the original orientation, check the printer dialog's own orientation setting first.
• Rotation applies in 90-degree steps only, because that is what the PDF specification stores. Straightening a slightly skewed scan is a different operation entirely and needs an image editor.
