What people use Image Converter for
- Converting a batch of images between formats in one pass.
- Handling a mixed set of source formats without separate tools.
- Choosing an output format when you are not sure which you need.
Image Converter: limits and things worth knowing
- Choose by purpose: JPG for photographs where size matters, PNG for anything with transparency or sharp text, WebP for web delivery, and AVIF where the smallest possible file matters and support allows.
- Converting to a format without an alpha channel — JPG, most notably — flattens transparency onto a solid colour, which is the most common unwanted surprise.
- TIFF is not supported as a SOURCE format, because browsers cannot decode it natively. It is available as an output.
- Every conversion into a lossy format re-encodes. Convert from your original rather than from an already-compressed intermediate.
Supported formats
Reads: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, GIF, BMP, SVG, JFIF. Writes: JPG, PNG, WebP, ICO, BMP, TIFF.
Is it private and secure?
Your privacy is built in. Image Converter does all processing on your own device using client-side code, so your files are never transmitted, stored or seen by anyone — including us.
Network activity: none. Nothing is sent and nothing is fetched. This tool makes no network request at all once the page has loaded — which is why it keeps working if your connection drops.
You do not have to take that on trust — our privacy proof page publishes the Content-Security-Policy that enforces it, lists every third party it permits, and shows how to verify the whole claim yourself.
